The UC Davis GREAT Summer Research Program offers the best undergraduate students from the leading universities in Asia the opportunity to gain valuable research experience in science and engineering at the University of California, Davis as well as receive academic credit and classroom instruction to prepare for successful admission to graduate programs.
Key Program Dates
Students will be matched with Professors in throughout the College of Engineering. In addition, faculty in chemistry and the medical, biological & environmental sciences will admit students.
UC Academic Credit
The GREAT Program will enroll each student in 5 units of 199 independent study in the GREAT Research Professional Development Course. Students also receive 7 units of Continuing Education Credit for to the full time research participation in a mentor's lab. Course grades will be based upon research performance, program attendance and personal conduct.

Global Research Experience in Advanced Technologies (GREAT) Program
The UC Davis GREAT Summer Research Program offers the best undergraduate students from the leading universities in Asia the opportunity to gain valuable research experience in science and engineering at the University of California, Davis. Students live in the city of Davis for approximately 8 weeks during the summer.
Students in the GREAT program are matched with a UC Davis faculty mentor based upon their preference, faculty availability and the discretion of the program faculty director. During the application process, students will list three UC Davis faculty members with whom they would like to work. At least one of the faculty members should be selected from the GREAT Mentor Faculty list noted above. You can find additional information about prospective mentors by searching for them on the internet.
